About Us

We were a family run business that started from childhood memories and dreams of owning our own snoball stand.

We moved to sunny Florida in 1999 and could not find a way to beat the heat. Growing up in New Orleans, there were snoball stands everywhere. We could not believe that Florida did not have as many stands...

With memories of Pandoras, SnoWizard and such we knew we had to bring this icy treat to Florida, a state that is oh so hot!

This cooling, refreshing treat has many fond memories of good family times. Our family not only stood in line for snoballs on many hot several days over our lifetime, but it was also a summer job and career within our family.

James began his "snoball career" working summers at Pandoras and SnoWizard helping out his mom as she perfected her talents to pass onto the next generation.

We are now delighted to pass this dream onto our own children and many generations to come as we bring this refreshing treat for the first time to Treasure Island, Florida.

What is a Snoball?

I will tell you what it is not... It is not a sno cone. It is not even a snowball with a "w", it is a SNOBALL.

It is not rough, crunchy ice crystals found in a snow cone.

We say "NO" to crunchy ice, what we serve is a true, authentic New Orleans Snoball!!

A SNOBALL is a FINE, FLUFFY, HEAVENLY shaved snow!

It is a delightful, cool and refreshing treat.

The history of the snoball started in New Orleans or N'Awlins as some like to call it.

George J. Ortolano is credited for the wonderful invention of the Snowizard machine...

In 1936, Ortolano noticed a gathering of customers at a nearby snow cone business and was inspired to add this inexpensive treat to his grocery store to generate additional income.

Ortolano, the son of Sicilian immigrants, however, resolved to create a machine that would produce a fine, fluffy shaven snow, similar to that made with blocks of ice and a hand-plane ice shaver. His efforts were successful and his subsequent invention of a simple but ingenious machine transformed blocks of ice used in the household icebox into mounds of delicate snow-like flakes, unlike the crunchy ice crystals from that snow cone machine._{1 www.snowizard.com}
